Loro Parque means "Parrot Park" and it is named because they have the largest parrot reserve in the world. But it has so much more than that. It has a wonderful penguin exhibit (where they have truly recreated the natural habitat...altering the lighting conditions, ice on the walls...everything!)...it was amazing. One really great thing about the park on the whole was the emphasis on conservation and wildlife preservation. Every exhibit included a lesson on what dangers are faced by each species, and measures that are taken to add protection. Other highlights were the Dolphin and Sea Lion shows.
